About I was working on the house today, nailing down new shingles on the roof (12-1 pitch) and all of a sudden I yelped, "Mm." Not "MM!" This was the "Mm" of pain... seems I let my utility knife slip and "jab" right square dead on into a vein near the base of my left thumb. (It still hurts... more a bruise) I bled, and bled, and bled... MM heard my "Mm." and asked me what happened... I held up my left hand... it dripped, ran, flooded blood all over the roof... It was actually pretty entertaining. "Do you need stitches?!" Before I could answer she scrambled down her ladder and disappeared for a few minutes. When she popped back on the roof she had: A towel, alcohol (sterilizing, not drinking... crap) wadding, bandages, tape... I patched my hand up best I could and went on with the work. Funny thing is... the entry wound is so small (even as I look at it now) that one would never believe so much blood came pouring forth. I have drops all over the roof and my jeans (not "those" jeans)... My thumb hurts. My first thought after the “jab” was, ”Mm!” The second thought was, “I hope I didn’t cut a tendon/nerve/ligament.” And the third thing that went through my head was, “Where’s my camera?” Well, since my free hand was busy trying to staunch the flow… I could not have taken a very good pic anyway… So you get to see some of the oozings that landed on my work jeans… about 1/10th of what actually came forth.
