My first digital upload for some time. Springs from broken clothes pegs, placed on A4 paper and lit with a Interfit flash unit fired through a white brolly
A very good high key that still preserved the darker regions of the metal springs, Paul! The lighting is just about perfect! But even more I consider the desigh to be so successfully balanced here. Enough white space, and two simple objects, one in partial focus and the other so out of focus that it really could be thought as the background rather than as the subject itself.
I don't know of the feather on the foreground would be better to keep completely in the DoF. Nonetheless this kind of look of apparent "alteration" of sharp to soft focus on its windings brings a very nice tension too.
