Mirek,,Thank you for the comment. The WWII memorial is divided into two parts one honoring those who served in the Pacific and one for those who served in the Atlantic. Each section has a tower with a Baldachin (or if you prefer Baldaquin). Attached below are two versions as shown in the Park Service literature. The one I chose to film was for the Atlantic side. I liked the way the sky could be seen through the ring of laural the 4 eagles were holding. I agree that "Journalistic" does not exactly fit but since the monument tells a story of the war I could not think of any better catagory unless I used "other". Very dramatic composition and point of view here, Del! I like the repeating theme of the circles, in the wreath and opening at the top. Nicely done!

The shot seems empty. Why is this part of the monument so important? Is it about the geometry of the sceene, or symmetry? If this is a journalistic shot what is the story behind?
