It's much more than "everything is the color of the glass through which you look". It's rather "nothing exists for itself and without the colored glass that you use to look through".

Yes, exactly! And many times I realized that on my own self too, even with extremely simple geometric figures. Funny but also very rich in results about justifying the possibility of recognition of "truth" at all.
At the end, even A=A might be based on conditioned perception.

Thank you so much for the great explanation, Gustavo! It gives me ideas and it makes the image even better in its inversion of convex and concave. I thinbk that this is because of our exercised way to perceive faces and because there is nothing else on the image that could be a hint.
The shadows play indeed a big role. They give strong sense of plasticity. I visually assume a light source at the top right and a bit "over" the face.

Gracias Nick, me alegra mucho que te guste, te cuento: la máscara se hizo aplicando una pasta de yeso sobre el rostro de una persona, por lo cual en verdad es cóncava, pero al fotografiarla y ponerla en el plano, se produce la ilusión de que es convexa, :-), las sombras entonces producen una sensación anómala, que yo creo es la magia de esta fotografía...:-)

Now, this I name a good usage of photoshop, Gustavo! It doesn't need any overload of visible additions in order to make something visible that exists in the mind of the maker! This is not simply adding something here and applying some filter there, but much much more! All applied alterations work *together* for creating a single impression, the appearance of which seems to be so real that the spectator forgets about the impossibilities of physical existence of the depicted object. Thus, art *creates* another reality here.
Was that the photo of a face or of some mask? Anyway, the subtle shadowing gives it quite a strong plasticity, which makes it look as if I had a sculpture of a face floating over my screen. I don't know if the presence of the string/wire adds anything photographically, but it does reflect some symbolism again, as it follows the mean curvature of the face in a very exact way, so that it really makes it look captured in there.

Gracias Luis por tu comentario. En verdad es una foto vieja, de una serie que ya he abordado (y sobre la que vos ya me comentaste), pero bueno, este año los actos del 24 aquí estuvieron carentes de imágenes interesantes, y a decir verdad muy anclados en el pasado (hasta donde me pude quedar), declamativos y lo peor de todo, desconectados del presente, en fin "actos". Yo digo: memoria por los desaparecidos, sí, pero de siempre, incluidos los nuevos, los de hoy, los que incluso desaparecen vivos, y que desaparecidos, siguen ahí delante tuyo, lo cual es atroz, y por supuesto además de memoria, acción!, porque arreglar al mundo en el café de la esquina y luego irte a tu casa es demasiado fácil y una tonta forma de autocomplacencia , me explico?, pero bueno esta es otra historia!...ja...ja...y ojo, no desconozco algunos progresos!
Así que, bien, volví a estás máscaras pero bueno, por supuesto, con nueva mirada desde lo estético.

Mi intención era recordar a los desaparecidos de mi ciudad durante la última y sangrienta dictadura que vivimos los argentinos y que se inició con un golpe militar el 24 de marzo 1976. - (El collage de siluetas y consignas debajo de la máscara alude directa y específicamente a ellos). Sin embargo no logré un resultado que me satisfaga más que esta sola máscara desnuda, de todas formas, aquí dejo esos intentos y mi homenaje a estos compañeros caídos.
