Location City -  Ashington
State -  NORTHUMBERLAND
Country - United Kingdom   United Kingdom
About Ashington is a small town that has produced its share of footballers of the likes of Jackie Milburn who played and scored many goals for Newcastle United and Jack and Bobby Charlton who played for England when we won the World Cup in 1966.
This small ground was the place where these players played the game before they hit the big time.
The last game was played here last Friday 15th February and shall soon be a new supermarket.

I thought I'd find a panorama or two if I kept looking! Panoramas are the logical extension of a love for wide-angle shots. You'd square the circle with fewer stitches using the 10mm end of your Sigma, though! [grin]

Not sure why he has no icon but it has not stopped him bragging
He has two photos on here and is claiming a 50% success rate on his portfolio, kids eh

I am very much a sports person and feel sad to read about such losses.. great panorama shot, by the way !

Also, I noticed Daniels' shot on home page today.. but it doesn't have the 'PoD' icon.. any clue ?

A sad loss indeed Keith. This place will never be forgotten thats for sure mate. A fine Panoramic to remember the old ground is a fitting tribute. Well done...

I agree with you about the dark area in the sky but this is 9 images stiched together and the light was different the nearer to the sun I got

I like the image composition- it is brilliant but I am a little put off by the central dark shadow in the sky. I know it adds to the foreboding but it is juat a little too dark for my taste.
Progress huh? We need more shops dont we?
