Thank you for your nice comments on my Amaryllis. Yes, I do save them over from year to year and multiply them. If you want some details on just how I do it write me at metheny@cox.net. Del.

Ours, Apple Blossoms, have just opened two flowers today! The red one, Red Lion, had eight cups on two stems. What a magic colour! I know you're breeding them, so to say, I wonder if we can manage to keep them come in bloom next year, too! My wife saw yours last year and decided she must have them this year! YT

These are such stately plants. Very pretty close up. You certainly have a knack with these plants. We have never had much luck in keeping them over for another season. MAry

That is exactly what I do Riny. I also save the little off shoots and plant those. It usually takes me 3 yrs to grow them large enough to bloom. I started about 15 yrs ago with a single bulb and now have over a dozen large bulbs and have given at least half a dozen away. I have also discarded a number of the little off shoots simply because I have no more room. I think I enjoy watching them grow almost as much as the blooms. Thanks for the comment. Del.

Very very nice Del,I put my amaryllis outdoors every summer and normally bring them back indoors in September, consigning them to the cool and dark basement to rest for a couple of months before bringing them back upstairs; they normally flower around December or in January. But I was late this year in moving them, so they're still in their rest period, riny
