I´m so sorry that you have suffered so much, and embarrasment only makes such a condition worse. Good with more and more knowledge to take away people´s funny ideas so people are met with understanding. I´m glad photography has helped you. Expressing oneself by means of art can indeed be a good healingprocess. Take care, Olga.

I used to be ashamed of my condition, but not anymore...and I have come over it only last month.I am happy I finally managed to survive.I could have done terrible things to myself. It is just a disease that can be cured.I didn't know it could be cured. You see, something very bad happened to me ( I am afraid it will be heartbreaking to talk about it now) and the same night all this nightmare started.I am happy that after a year I am healthy again.Yes, people don't recognize it as an illness (that can actually pass) , and I learnt a lot about hate , love and prejudice.Annemette , I still think of all the people who suffer. And I still want to help the other people regardless of my problems.Little help I give, I could not give more than I can afford, but I am happy I haven't become selfish and a 'who-cares?-person.And I am sure you are not selfish at all, and I want to thank you for this sentence about depression you wrote to me.An invisible illness which is not invicible though! And photography saved me when I was totally alone.I own photography a lot.Thank you once more, Olga.

Dear Olga Thank you so much for your long and dedicated comment. I love when people have something to say:-) I´m also glad to know that there are many people who do care around the world, and it´s not only talk but also deeds. Not all can dedicate their life to working with drugaddicts or refugees in Africa. There are also many other important issues in this life, but it´s good to be aware of other people´s suffering, not to be blind and thereby also help here and there in different ways depending on who you are. Take care and I hope you´ll always at least swim in the surface and sometimes fly high. I understand that you´ve a depression which is hard even more so because many people don´t recognize it as an illness because it´s invisible. Just hang in there! Annemette

'Even if all were placed in the same place with equal opportunities some would always succeed and some end up in the gutter. Still that doesn´t justify not helping people in the gutter. ' These are words of wisdom, and I totally agree with you.I was sure that your image hid irony, not an attempt to attract viewers , but this cruel irony that has to wake our minds up.So, you set my mind into alarm.I appreciate this.I am somewhere between the success and the gutter so, I see the terrible unbalance every day and people tell me not to be so sensitive.BUT WE HAVE TO BE!

Hmm Annemette.. what kind of cooking is that? The birds are precariously perched on top of your oven shelf. :-) You did put those birds in the roasting pan before igniting the oven, didn't you? :-))
Seriously Anne, I feel the same way. I was unhappily getting rid of some turkey leftovers last week and I thought someone else in Africa will be glad to have this food available to them - food that my family has no trouble throwing away. Not sure if I agree with Roger Skinner because there are always going to be some who are going to be grateful for the help and will appreciate the assistance instead of abusing it. In industralized countries, the homeless and the destitute tend to be mentally ill or drug addicts so that presents us with the kind of demographics that's hard to reach and help. They may spend the money you give them on drugs but if I see someone digging up a trash can, I will give them money so they can go buy themselves a fast food dinner for that meal.

well we all do what we can Annemette my dear.. the sadder fact is that sometimes when we help those less fortunate they abuse the assistance. So lets put that behind us and I look forward to a creative and succesful 2008 for you and am on my own targets as well this year
