This is actually my own careful framing, Charlie. The full title displayed is Tower of the Americas, but I aligned the one word with the tall concrete.

dear paul, this also belongs to the silly cityscapes, doesn´t it? how intelligent to call it "tower" ... maybe one could overlook it? best regards charlie.f.kohn@sixpence-pictures.com // photography // design // madrid

Oops, error!
Should be: "Get first the basic things well done..."
Cheers,

Hey, thanks a lot for that info, Paul! Now some things get clear to me! It is just like taking the outlets of the guitar right into to the amp and *then* applying perhaps effect loops and anything else. Which could also be callerd: "Get first the nasich things well done, and then proceed to details"?
Best wishes,
Nick

I think the minimized noise, Nick, is because in CS3, I open all my images with the RAW requestor (even if they're JPEG). That allows me to adjust temperature, exposure, saturation and noise even before I get the image into CS3 for cropping and further editing.

What I consider so well done here is how black that darkness is, on which the illuminated tower can develop all its reflections, strong contours and lighting in all the range of DoF, which seems to be infinite here. BTW, how did you manage to virtually no noise at that ISO?
Considering lighting.. well it reminds be of some images of the 50s/60s that depict night life.
Cheers,
Nick

great perspective, Paul, excellent control of light including that pure black background. I didn't realize this structure existed.
Best wishes and I wish you happy holidays, whatever kind they may be!
