Yes, I agree the wider angle gives more scale and depth to the tall buildings.

Thanks, John.

not that the color version is bad...not at all...just on that subject I like the greyscale, the already impressive place with the dramatic high and big elements looks even more dramatic now...
be well Paul...

I'm sure it will be a great enjoyment as a big image on your wall, Paul!

Thanks, Nick. I can't wait to get my enlargement back and enjoy it on my wall.

I don't know what else to say here, Paul, that that it is of a timeless quality! Even if the bottom hides a bit of the perhaps interesting details in darkness!

It is such images that represent the esence of some place, and most of the time they are B&W (I have the impression). The buildings in the background seem to almost dissolve in the heavy air of the city, and then the incredibly detailed train confirms the main attitude of the place.. steel, smog, dust.

Great work!

Thanks, Mark. I'm really HAPPY with this creation, especially since this treatment wasn't pondered while I was shooting.

I was trying to find a non-model shot in my portfolio, and realized they're getting harder to find. Anyway, I found this one and wanted the focus to be on the El plowing through the city.

Like this one a lot - a classic shot. Great comp and crop.(maybe would have taken a bit off across the top). VERY NICE job - 7

Actually, there IS a dark vignette, and a gradient, and a b&w adjustment layer, and....aw hell, here is a peek at the unedited image, Roger:

nice work perhaps a little vignette might add to the images which is a ripper

This is not only a great shot, but I love the black and white and the treatment.... This looks so commercial and it really reminds me of 1960s Chicago... Somnething I would have seen in the paper or a mag back then.

Best,
Dave

Love the film grain and vignette!
Excellent image Paul!
Looks like a modern style 30's shot if that makes any sense.

Thank you, Melek.
I was experimenting with blending layers to age the shot and to minimize the street and put the focus on the train.
