You are absolutely right about your comment, Joggie! The same thought occurred to me at the time. Unfortunately closer access was not possible because of a deep ditch. Instead I used the fleeting morning light, clouds and post processing to the best advantage that I could. Perhaps next year I will come prepared with rubber boots. This field is used for daffodils and tulips in the spring, a good time! Eb

Hi Eb - the warm colours are great and the sky beautiful. A nice image but a bit run of the mill ito composition (said with lots of respect and knowledge of your capabilities with the camera!). Just a thought on the angle and composition: I think the flowers in the middle-ground should be much more prominent as the current foreground does not really add enough. Walking closer and shooting from a lower level with those flowers leading the eyes towards the backdrop of clouds and trees could add a lot of impact - the 12-24 zoom with the almost limitless DoF would be the perfect lens to do this with. Kind regards and please keep sending these lovely images from that beautiful part of our world.

Thanks for your comment Ronen! Photography is in many ways a subtractive art, so I agree that one can always crop more. I am satisfied with this crop but it would also look good a bit tighter. Eb

Thanks Tim! I have seen a few attempts at this scene by local photographers. I hope mine is sufficiently unique! I used a 3 stop ND grad and colour balanced with a grey reference card. Even so, I had to do further tonal balance with a ND grad filter in photoshop. The increased saturation brought out the warmth in the ambient light. Eb
