Dear Misty! Of course I remember you my friend! I too have been away for a long time. I am just getting back, but will not be as active in usefilm as I once was. I have a lot to do in Life and my health is not so good. But I am a survivor and a juggler... :) I will do my best to be around and see your images and I have just uploaded one of mine today! Thank you for your kind comments. I value them! I value you! Much Love to you and yours for the Festive Season! HUGS! Aniko :) xox

Hi Joggie!
I very much appreciate your comments, and can relate to what you are saying. Thank you :)
I deliberately made this an unusual POF softer image. Naturally, it could have been sharp all the way through, but I chose a wider apeture to get this somewhat offbeat impression. What appeals to some, is not as appealing to others, and I truly thank you for your take on this image. :)
Please do not apologize for not having time to comment on all images... I know that feeling well! :)
I sneak away from work to be here and comment as much as possible on everyone's fine works, but it is not so easy when time is a limitation.
My Warmest Wishes to You, Aniko :)

Hi Aniko I think its a very creative approach and I like the subject - beauty is everywhere and also in the dead and dying. I like the colour and the earthy textures very much and the irregular pattern as well. I do think though that it could be somewhat sharper, especially with the micro lens and the blurred petal in the middle spoils it for me. I would either opt for a slightly increased DoF to bring the middle one sharper into focus or I would remove it completely (before taking the photo of course - yes thats allowed!).
I see a lot of nice uploads from you but unfortunately dont have the time to comment on all - please forgive me! Kind regards. Joggie

Oh they are indeed my Darling Shirley! :)
I have many in my garden, but they all like this, as I am not into gardening much anymore... (*insert guilty face here*)
Thank you, my friend, for your kind comments, as i was merely testing my camera... had not considered this shot would appeal to many as it is a bit whacky!
Your opinions are always greatly valued and much appreciated.
Warm hugs~ Aniko :)

Ah, Dear Nicki!
My photographic equipment is ancient and over-worked. It is "expected" that a lens or something else will break sooner or later. I have had the good fortune of it being later rather than sooner! :)
Good plan to have at least 2 cameras and as many lenses as possible with you at all times... (When I shoot weddings, I have 2 tripods, an assortment of lenses and other "stuff"... 5 cameras, many of which are hanging around my neck, and I have nearly strangled myself with their straps, on more than one occasion... hehehe!!!) All worth it,even though I agree...very heavy to carry around!
It is a bright sunny afternoon here and I "should" go cut those hydrangeas back, and i "should" pay some outstanding bills, but I am also working on my MSN sites, and would like to take a nice bath... so yes, it will be a long evening, and the hydrangeas will have to wait!
(Romantic is good... )
Hugs to you! Ani :)

Hydrangeas seem to be interesting at all stages, I've also found. A fine art work, dear Aniko! 7/7

Hi Ani!!
So sorry about your lens...the worsest thing when a camera or a lens is broken!!!I can understand you very well.In one of my trips I had a problem with my lens too,it was bloked:((( Thanks God it happened in Queensland,so I could go in a photoshop. It was only dust but I had this never before...and I had only one camera with me.Today I take always two cameras with me and some lenses!!!Therefore is my bag very heavy:)
No,no..You are NOT too romantic..I like it because I'm romantic too:))))) Great oicture with the macro lens!!!
I wish you a great evening..I bet it will be another LONG evening..LOL!!!
Hugsssss to youuuuuuu,Nicki;)

My Dear Nicki!!! :)
I am happy to say that is was just the lens that was broken and I still had the film in the camera from the night the lens broke. The camera is functioning OK! I put my macro lens on and what you see here is actually the petals of the flowers, all dried up. This is their true colour (under flat late afternoon light).
I am so pleased you like this abstract creation, my sweet friend!
I am also happy to be doing some more photography and other arts again. i don't know how long I will have time to, but while I have the chance, I am really making the most of it! :)
I am working in Photoshop right now on another image I had promised to shoot for Shirley. I borrowed a friend's digital camera and am just "tweaking" the colour balance and so on before posting yet another! (All very old fashioned looking things... I am too romantic I think...) And later today (as it is nearly 2:00am now), I have another image planned that will take great thought and care to get "right". Again, I will need to shoot with a digital camera. For me, they are very slow and not very friendly... lol... but at least they do the job!
I am thrilled you visited, my dear.
BIG Hugs to you and thank you again! Ani :)

Thank you Annemette!
These are actually the petals of part of the flower heads... (I have changed that in the "about" now, so people will know. :)
It is confusing focus, and very deliberately so. I wanted an old fashioned, yet abstract feel, and it seems I more or less managed that.
I love old fashioned things and have just now borrowed a friend's digital camera to photograph more old fashioned "things" to be able to upload them quickly, without having to wait for fim develop and print, scan etc..! (I think I am a romantic at heart...)
Your wonderful comments are always highly appreciated.
Warmest Regards to you, and again, many thanks, Aniko :)

I love this somewhat confusing focus, the structure of the leaves and the tones. There is something very delicate, poetic and oldfashioned about this image! Take care Annemette
