This should be an award winner!!
A wonderful image of people who are the "salt of the earth" Do you know the expression?
However, I don't agree with you that there is sadness in the image. I see it another way. I bet that these wonderful people would much rather die working in the fields that they love, than sitting in front of a tv set. They are honest, hard working, contributers to society. And I bet they wouldn't have it any other way.
The farmer that my father bought our cottage land from still works in the fields. He must be over 85 by now! I don't no how he does it, but I think it helps keep him young. When I went up there last week, his wife was working in the garden and he was pulling hay around with his tractor. They both amaze me! It's a hard life, but an honest one.
