Excellent shot Paul. Simply grt landscape. The tonal range obtained is just fabulous from bottom to top. I like the way you have placed the tree in the middle position. I think it portrays strength and character (as your title also suggests).

Moody landscape or Alone.. anyway this just personal opinion ;. This shot is absolutely fantastic Paul!! The tonal range is perfect and the dark tree seems to be dead and lost in this landscape. The heavy clouds add something to the particular atmosphere of this beautiful shot. Congrats Paul

a dramatic sky and the excellent BW conversion with good tonal range make this picture very appealing, however not sure about the placement of the tree in the canvas, you know I don't usually follow the rules but i wonder whether this image with a wider lense and the tree more to the inferior right corner could improve or not anyway just some thoughts because the image is very good as it is take care mate....jd
