I was impressed with how well this turned out. It's one of those situations where you can break the rules and still have a great composition! (if you know how)

I've wondered how to crop this kind of subject. We went to Ypres last winter, but weren't satisfied with the result. Too close and you miss the industrial scale of the horror - too far, and you miss the personal element of the names and origins. I like what you've done here.

Lovely and sad -- I like the way the seed grass is sort of silouhetted against the white of the stone in the foreground.
