Absolutely stunning...wow...oh my....only 200mm??? That means you wasn't so away from that big guy....and he watching you!!! JUST??? a buffalo? Well not for me...and surely not for many people as it is 1 in a billion to see that animal in my life!!! EXCELLENT photo, very good details EVEN to the shadowed areas and great face, surely not cute but I believe in the inside beautiness HAHAHA!!!
Best regards dear Robert!

I may have adjusted this just a bit too much! At least there is a lot more detail.
An animal I can only see in a zoo.

Sorry i mean Robert. here we are talking in front of YOu Robert. I know you're talking j.. Robert this is the first photo of yours I've looked at I think. At the moment I think you look like a buffalo... Well I don't see a self portrait so I'm stuck with the impression of this strong intimidating silent type in front of me here.
He knows about contrast and light j.

Would work better if it wasn't a chick.
I thought he meant just a buffalo as in not two fighting or jumping of a cliff.
Well I'm probably making a fool of myself again but I'll carry on.
I've nothing against more hilights here but I interpret the dark as a noble thing. The sort of glass and pewter plate type of thing.
Oh but here we are talking in front of you Mr or Mrs J. Esford how rude.

OR....possibly a very clever reference to V.Halen's "Just a Gigolo"???

Not really Ian, the shot has an overall dark, sinister feel to it, probably due to the light quality, (or my monitor calibration!) which has also affected the detailing and saturation qualities. As majestic beasts as these are, it amazes me (as an "ignorant" tourist!) that they're so maligned. I've been fortunate to travel into the Great American West in recent years, (seen my very first bison/buffalo ever) and been blessed with the opportunity to photograph many. The underlying assessment of the locals are that these are nuisance animals. I got that feel from this piece, not that it was intended, just my interpretation that's all. -john

It would like much better in colour.
