I really like this picture Rene. I have taken several looks at it and have not been able to comment usefully on it until now. The detail is well caught. It certainly has a '20s feel to it. The only criticism I have is the position of the shadow detail that appears to stick out of his coat from the neck and the back and front.

I found the neck area to be the most distracting. It may be that this would not have been the case if the detail had been a part of something well understood like a staircase for instance. As it is... it is nondescript detail so it tends to cause the eye to try and interpret it.

Maybe PS could be used to cover the background and add something recognisable? Way beyond my skill anyway. I still liked the picture and would give it house room if I had a copy.
