About The local BBQ in HUndested/Dogville down at the harbour where locals often eat and also the tourists that take the small ferry across the fjord especially in the summertime. Many of these local harbours are now being destroyed because of fancy houses being built on the harbours. The old authentic and even sometimes ugly environment is lost which is a pity. The spirit disappears, the old men cleaning fish, the children looking at crabs etc. Everything is getting fancy and slimlined:-((

I like your style very much, all your photo are different each other but all with the same point of view and sensitivity.
You can see the colours in a particular way!

Yes indeed- good sometimes to keep on to the original environment instead of making everything new and fancy.

Yes, that IS sad, when the locals get priced out or bought out, and the original character is lost.

What a magnificent sky!

Annemette...:))) I'm so very sorry I've missed these last photos...:)))

This is so well deserved of BiP award... Congratulations is not enough for this work...:)))

Your about is sad but very true of most places where development takes away the very reason people enjoy the authentic,*normal* relaxed feel in the first place...

This is stunning in it's vibrancy of colour, colour that pairs with it's character...:))) Man is a fool in his need to *own*, but, in that process, loses...

Excellent plus a multitude Annemette...:)))

Onie...

This is a very small place, but I don´t know the quality of the food though. These small places are still quite popular in Denmark although they are slowly being taken over my pizzaplaces.
I´m not much into fancy restaurants - I like small, informal cozy places. And it would be great photographing in such places with all the funny types coming there:-=

Well, you see, there is part of the secret to finding a good bbq joint. They tend to be small and grubby. Fancy and roomy usually suggests inferior bbq. Cramped and dingy affords a better probability of mega-yummy bbq. This is not a hard and fast rule, but it is a good guideline.

Thank you very much for your interesting comment, Andre. Sad that this so-called development is happening so many places. People will regret it one day. I´m certain about that. When they are fed up with post-modernism, glass and concrete they´ll suddenly wish the old houses with soul were still around.
Happy Easter
Annemette

Thanks, James- øh was that an invitation?:-) I´m sure your BBQ-places are much bigger. We haven´t yet the same tradition for eating as much as Americans, but we´re on your tail though:-0

Hi Annemette,
Congrats for the BIP award for this beautiful night shot.
I read your about section with interest because exactly the same thing is happening here in and around Toronto. Building developers think nothing of replacing a small farm with three or four hundred housing units and single old homes are torn down all over the city to but up modern townhomes that cram people in like ants. :(
Very sad reality.
By the way... I think James is right about the first one in this series. This one is very good, but the first one with the reflections in the window might be even better!!

Good colors over lots of concrete. Congratulations on the award. Danish bbq? Sounds unusual. When you come to visit we'll hit some bbq places for comparison.

Annemmette -- What a beautiful picture, as if it was painted with colored lights; the dramatic sky and the lonely outpost of the local eatery all evoke a special mood. Most beautiful places today fall victim to the developers that build homes/condos and glitzy tourist stores.

Take care

This is an outstanding series you have here my dear. Wonderfully vivid coloring, a nicely contrasted and beautifully seen perspective. It's true that this change is happening across the globe, it's difficult to see the old ways disappear. Guard these images carefully my friend so that your children's children can relate to your history. Best regards, newfman john

Best wishes

love colors (same comment of other photo) and light striped from cars wich gives to the scene something dynamic in a very static place.
I can understand what you are thinking about, old traditions are unfortunatly disappearing...
congratulations
