Hi Bill! :)
I doubt any human being can really improve upon (Mother) Nature... but thank you so much for your warm compliment!
I often use tungsten light, candlelight, (all manner of warm light), and mixed light sources...
And in fact am setting up a still life right now... Hopefully it will turn out OK under mixed lighting.
Waiting for my friend to arrive so I can borrow his digital camera. This is an important mission I am on and I am running out of time! OH NO! LOL!

Warm colour only because of the tungsten lamp (and no PS "corrections"... Flower is actually close to being perfectly white...with blood red/marron accents... (mwahahaha...lol)...
Nice carnation this, and I have a small bunch here. Would like to shoot in daylight. Maybe. Need to borrow camera...Already the light is fading... and not sure how long the flowers will last!!! )Worse case secnario... shoot em when they are looking ragged, dead, sad and discarded...) :) :) :)
So this flower reminds you of a rare Hungarian/Australian flower that likes a certain style of boots? Heavens! LOL! Only one style of boots? Gosh... how limited!!!

The actual flower is much whiter under natural (not tungsten) light but I had no access to a camera during daylight, therefore shot it under a tungsten lamp last evening. It still looks pretty, I think. :)
If my friend arrives in daylight hours and indulges me with allowing me to use him camera again, I am hoping to get a shot or two of it outdoors in it's "real" colour. I have a few of these carnations still looking quite amazing. Perhaps I can group some together. They remind me of white ballet tutus of can can dresses with deep red/marron hem-lines! Lovely these carnations. Very special.
