About I need to share this flaming red sun with you. I walked down to the fjord last night and took some photos and enjoying the last light of the day when the sun suddenly came through the clouds red as my blood. It reflected into some of the water that was there during lowtide, so I walked around with my tripod getting good and muddy on my boots and took some photos of the sun.

The dust spot would be easy to clone out. The refleftions in the water is way to cool!

Cool shot, Annemette! I like the steel gray image with that blazing ball of the sun just sitting there with the various reflections in the mudflats below. yes, sad for the dust speck, but still a great shot! Cheers from the frozen arctic. Gary

Excellent composition Annemette. Terrific contrast between the sun and reflection and the black and blue landscape. Very effective and attractive.

HA HA HA! That's it! That's the answer! I can give them a slight electrical charge and then drape them over the sensor with a slight rocking movement! Thanks, Annemette, you're a genius!

Well, maybe those eyebrows of yours can come in handy as dustbusters? I bet you never figured that out by yourself, but soon it will work out terrific for you...;-)

Oh Annemette, don't talk to me about dust... my Canon 5D is full of dust! I have to spend hours and hours retouching my photos... I actually got a repetitive strain injury recently from doing so. I have various cleaning devices (hoover, giant horn, 'wind tunnel in a box') but none of them get it clean for long... I think it's me... I attract dust. But maybe that's appropriate as I'm attracted to taking photos of old, decaying things! I long for the day when the camera manufacturers devise a foolproof way to keep sensors clean!

Oh yes, you´ve a good point there, Patrick. I was too excited about the sun and the reflections to make it work like this:-) And never cease to give me good advice - I really appreciate it.
:-(((((I know about the dust. I´ve found out that such a digital SRL is extremely fragile when it comes to dust. I don´t know what to do about it. I´ve tried blowing it out without any luck.
Bonecruncher- yes, I had a light snack while being at the fjord as I found the leftovers from a fox´thighbone. A vikingphotographer has to eat..;-)) No seriously I did find this thighbone and I had to bring it home with me for Anna Sophie to see it. I´ll clean it up one of these days and add it to my collection. It was only a young fox about a year old and the bone was lying out on the sand during lowtide.

OK... have a look at this... actually I was wrong, it isn't quite rule of thirds, but you get my point...

OK Annemette, you know I love your photos and I think you're one cool bone crunching, hammer wielding Viking, so I know you'll be able to take some constructive criticism from me! This is so close to being an absolute classic, but for me the position of the sun in the frame is a problem... it's too close to the top. This is a classic example of a photo in which applying 'the rule of thirds' would have made it perfect. Also it looks like you've got some dust on your sensor (just below the sun). Nasty dust! Get off Annemette's sensor of she'll be at you with her trusty hammer!

Oh, thank you for mentioning this, Bruno! Now everything settles in my mind, as I did have a strange feeling of seing something like this before, and it certainly resembles that painting of Monet that I know well.
Thank you!
