Thanks for the comments Salvo. The MPe-65 is not an easy lens to use. The dof is extremely small, it needs a lot of well diffused light, you have to focus by moving the lens/camera which is not easy. I find that I usually rest the end of the lens on the surface that the subject sits on to be able to hold the camera steady.

Thanks Art, the dof is extemely narrow with this lens at this magnification that's why, where possible, I use CombineZ5 to stack the images.

Thanks Dave for the comments. The dof is very shallow when using the MPe-65 at 5x. I tried to take a series of images suitable for stacking in CombineZ5 to increase the dof but I couldn't get any that were similarly framed for it to work. Maybe next time.
