I know that feeling Gary: one late afternoon in the fall, we were just about to leave the forest and we came across a place where the ground was covered with colored maple leaves and dew drops, and I photographed every leaf until there was no more light :) Some I posted here on UF.

Hi Ina... you are right... it was a magical day! For 2 days we'd been having this amazing hoar frost but it just stayed cloudy and dull all day long except a brief spell the afternoon before, and then on that day, it cleared right up in the early afternoon. The frost was so delicate that just the slightest bump of a tree would knock a lot of it off. The next day a bit of a breeze basically blew it all off. I feel very fortunate to have been there at that time. (I took over 300 pics that afternoon!! thank goodness for digital!) Cheers, Gary :)

I like the two elements here of snow/frost on the trees and the bars of the trunks. The closer trunks reinforce this by continuing out of the top of the image. An very nice shot.

Hi Yoshiyuki. Thanks for the comment... I think you are right that it is the best of the bunch. I was just lucky there was some nice dark clouds in the background to highlight the trees so well. It really was magical walking around in the snowy woods. Cheers, Gary

I love the contrast in this image. The vivid blue sky, bright white snow, and darker trees in the foreground really blend to create a beautiful winter scene!
