Just beautiful. Very well composed. Good DOF and focus (difficult because of the branches). I think Canadians are blessed with a wonderful country. I've seen so many wonderful shots from this country that I'd like to visit it some day (I'm so far away, here in the South).

Great shot Dave, I'm envious of you. I've been trying to get a shot of a male Cardinal which lives in our area for months. I hear his call and can see him in a distant tree but when I try to get close he flies off. Very nice capture,
I should check out the the Mudd Lake Conservation Area, it can't be too far from where we live.

There's a Cardinal in my neighbourhood but he has been too elusive for me to get a decent shot.

What a big fat bird. Is this santa bird???? He certianly is eating well this winter. I love that color. I can't even imagine seeing something that red flying around. Great focus on his face avoiding all the brances in front.
