This warrior is certainly battle weary Tom... The scars of fighting for his harem maybe... or, just survival in a hard world... No longer needed to service the species his road will be one of certain isolation and hunger...
Tho' sad... it still an amazingly wonderful and true depiction of life in the wild... made more poignant as he walks a road made by man...

Honest to god, he was limping, too. What a sight...the essence of a bad day...and lions can't afford bad days. Unfortunate, stills can't show that.

WOW! That is one tough Lion! You know, usually you see photos of lions in full grace and proud etc.. Well I think that is a little overdone. Now this, this is an awesome portrait. Its real! Gosh what a brute! Excellent photo, detail, DOF and composition. Congratulations on such a find! 7+
