About Experimenting with my friend's digital camera, this shot was a trick and a half for me! (Or rather for the camera... hehe...)
Shot under barely any light at all other than a couple of far spaced and shaded low wattage wall lamps, even though the camera was rated at 1600, it wasn't happy, so the specs you see appear to be from underexposure ( I think...) I was using apeture priority, and remember I don't understand digital cameras at all!!!

These are not "real" leaves, but fabric ones on a fake tree I have in my foyer next to a (dirty) window.
Tripod mounted and manually focused.

I had to boost the image a lot in PS as the resulting initial image was almost black.
Rather an interesting experiment!
I am sure most people will think it is awful... but I kind of like it... lol...

I really like this image and the feel of it Aniko. The lighting, colour...and grain. Knowing so little about photography, it is the almost infinite number of different ways one thing can be seen and felt that fascinates me. So I'd want them all! I learnt alot looking and reading here!

Dear Michele!

Thank you so much.

I too love different type things. I agree the specs are somewhat like film grain, though as Paul pointed out it is specs (noise)from underexposure as happens when using a digital camera that I am not used to using in the least!
I like the version he cleaned up for me, but I would not have posted this at all, had I not liked it with the grainy effect as well :)

Warmest Wishes to you my friend!
Aniko :)

Thank you Dear Shirley!

Yes... I never understood Neat Image, but now I have a passion to experiment again with low light "stuff" using a digital camera, and can't wait to use Neat Image :)

Much Love to You,
Aniko :)

I guess I just go for the different type things, I really like this Aniko. I like the tones, and the light, and what I had thought was grain ... but maybe it's 'underexposure spec's ?'
Whatever I really do like this.
Your Friend,
Michele~

Howdy my friend!!!

Thanks so much Paul. You're teaching me a great deal about digital cameras... truly appreciated.

As I do not have the camera here, I have no idea what the minimum apeture is on that lens.

That noise reuction is amazing!!! Excellent... I must remember that one!

Warmest Wishes to you and Happy Christmas!
Ani :)

Howdy neighbor!
Yeah, you lose most detail in dark, underexposed areas of a digital image, Ani. There is software, such as Neat Image designed solely for noise reduction. I like it, but offer this noise-reduced version for your analysis.

Further, you should have opened the lens up a bit, as I'm guessing it wasn't a minimum 5.6 aperture.
