Personally, I love this image! Deep shadows, lots of darkness and sharp clean tones and whites! Great work!!!

Kes, now that you mention haze filters, I think this is a good idea and I should experiment with this, too. Even at coastal seal level there is a lots of haze. Eb

Hi again Eb, just ordered a Hoya UV/Polarizer Hybrid filter....it is their "ultra" line, so lots of coatings and probably a pain to keep clean. I thought with our altitude that might be the way to go for the mountain scenes. Also getting a Tiffen Haze2, as I've had some success with that on my Rolleicord. Kes

Hi Eb, thanks for all your comments - you have given some great suggestions! I haven't ordered it yet, but am leaning towards the Hoya Pro1 digital circular polarizer. http://www.hoyafilter.com/products/hoya/pro1d-01.html

It does have zing! I am not sure if I agree with the night effect. The dark sky could use less filtering, some relief! I can understand why you opted for B&W relative to the colour. I find the transformation remarkable! BTW, what polarizer did you decide to get? Eb

Thanks Andre! This is about all I could do with the color here as it was overexposed. This is a neat place. I shot some with film on the inside awhile back - the door was unlocked...
I've been working a lot but will try to catch up on a couple of your shots tonight.

Great image(s) with the shadow and angle. The B&W gives a mysterious feel. And the blue sky is so bright and uplfting.

This looks like you popped and Infrared filter on the camera. The jet black sky really makes the image.Try an infrared filter sometime if you like this kind of style.Or maybe you already have!..Rick

Me encanta ese toque de misterio que le imprimes a muchas de tus fotos... creo que es por la luz que usas. Felicitaciones!

Hi Kes, It looks good in colour too. But I think you are right, it has a bit more zing in the filtered B&W version. Good job on this one! Love these old houses! Andre

Here's the original color shot. The B&W print from the large file turned out great, but it looks like the b&w here may be over-sharpened. ?
