wow this had to be a tough one, I have not been out pelican shooting in some time but I remember the dive shot was always the hardest, this is outstanding..

I love watching seabirds dive, and being from Australia it was especially weird to see a pelican doing this manoeuvre, as our Aussie Pelican never does, only feeding by trawling, often working as a team, from the surface! You did well to get much of the bird in focus and freeze a powerful move. I wonder if perhaps a polariser could have helped remove some of the background glare? Cheers, Alice.
