About This is another shot on the same day as "The Spinster". Yes, I am a romantic and adore the natural film grain and natural light. This one (unlike "The Spinster") has not been "adhanced" in PS. What you see is what I saw... lol...
I like the fact that her sleeve is a little burnt out. It looked that way as white so often does on film...especially when there is no option to "colour correct" so her face is not too dark and so forth... I like this as it is totally "natural"...

Thank you Dear Shirley.

And I am sure you are right! I do frame rather tightly as a "rule" (tightened further by the negative holding gate at the printer's which can crop into an inage a further 15% or so and "shave" the print down even more.) But this image being so tight cannot be owing to the gate of the printer. I have looked at the neg, and although not quite as tight as this, the end of the flute is still not quite there!
I concentrated too much on the girl (who actually cannot play flute... it was but a prop she did her best to feel comfortable with...)

I love it when people make me think, Shirley, as you do, and I wonder if subsconsciously I cropped the end of the flute as the girl was not really playing, and feeling a little bothered by not being sure of her hand positions on the instrument etc... My reaction could have been (I don't concsiously recall... I worked on instinct)to shoot at the most comfortable nagle for her and have the flute more as a suggestion than the focal point... I wonder... lol...

Thank you so very much my Dear Friend! You bring me insights and lots of questions aboutmy own work, which is such a good thing!:)
Aniko:)

Oh, I LOVE this romantic image, dear Aniko. My only nit is that you've cropped the end of the flute. I would have liked to see a little space there...
