i use the same camera,,, and i do use it in night mode.... i find your shots interesting.
I slapped an Nd400 on my camera and get dood results with the hoya filter... thanks for your reply always interested how people get around the sony night shot nightmares.... thanks Priscilla

Hi Priscilla, I am using the older model sony dsc 717. I am not using the nightshot mode that comes with this camera becuse it is very limited and only good during the blue hour with a 1/30 or 1/60 second exposure. I purchased an IR hoya 72 filter so that i may shot any time of day. It is sad that sony limited the use of the built in ir filter. Hope this helps sandra

how do you get 10 sec exposures with your sony?? are you using a dsc-r1? i like it

There's something spooky about this shot, and I'm guessing it's the feeling of desertion or emptiness. IR filter works well here, as would probably a b&w shot also.. interesting shot. Best regards, Niclas
