I love the perspective on this. A macro shooter would tend to shoot from above (i'm guilty of doing this as well), but your approach is unique and adds a very good twist - focusing only on one petal and leaving the center as a background. Excellent lighting as well! great work.

This is just another spectacular shot!
We love your floral "macros" and will have to look into getting a lens for our A-1 if it is made.
Nice work, Chuck [another 7+]

It's a good thing Bek...I still giggle when I read this! First time I've ever been flipped off by a flower...not very ladylike is it? I couldn't help but share my "view" with everyone and hope that some "got" it...I knew our friend Doyle would...he's so quick! Glad you liked it! :) Robin

Wooo . . . an 'almost' dedication. I'm 'almost' humbled! LoL!
I stand by my 'Astounding' . . . it's a tad higher on the food chain than outstanding.
I'm proud to be the first to 'get it' . . . uhhhhh . . . I think . . . (considering 'it' is a gesture)!
I have attached a small map to show you the way to the mysterious dark circle I was referring to.
And I almost DIDN'T dedicate a photo to you so you can almost NOT thank me for it later! Hahaaa . . . First dedication!
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~

Follow white line to white arrow. - Follow till you reach white circle. Inside is circlular dark area previously referred to. |

I love the humour of this neatly entitled floral composition my dear Robin:) :) Looks like you are being asked to remove yourself in no uncertain way:) Apart from the humour I still love the selective focus of the shot. We all tend to concentrate on the colourful and highly detailed centres in the hearts of our flowers so it's a treat to see this pof for a great change. Well done to you sweetie, I love this. My very best wishes to you as always with a great big hug.....Ray;)

Well I'm glad you like this one...I almost dedicated it to you for not liking the purple flower yesterday! Two reasons for not putting your name on it...one, wasn't 100% sure (only about 99%) I could get away with an obvious "petal" flip...two, I couldn't help but take the subtle humor route just to see who would "get it" first! You, my fine funny friend, DID NOT disappoint me! This means you have won an all expense paid trip to San Francisco, which you have already taken and paid for so I am off the hook! Thanks for the comment Doyle...humor and a serious critique, now I know it's a worthy pic! BTW...the dark circle, you mean the none next to the yellowish center or is there something else I can't see? Questioning my monitor again!!! Take care...Robin

Now SEE? THIS I really do like! And the ONE petal in astounding Focal clarity is a key to accent this shot very well and define the DOF . . . Hmmmmmm . . . I think this was that famous 'purple I had earlier referred to as well!
A very good composition and . . . wait a minute . . .
Is that a CENTER petal? Oh . . . OMG . . . this Flower is "Giving me the PETAL!" NOW I get the title too! A flower with Attitude! How cool is that?? Tell this flower I said "Bite me!" Heheheheee!
There is what seems to be a dark - sorta' circular area in the right-side lower petal area which is a tad bit of a distraction . . . but this is cool Robin!
