I'm pleased you like this image, Paul and I'm thrilled for you to be getting into a studio with a model.
My take on "what one requires" in order to do a good shoot, is rather basic... whatever is available! :) Here in my house, I have a make shift studio and ancient lights. I rarely use flash. The image of "Delicate" was created in a REAL studio with a heap of fandangled gadgets like millions of flashes etc, soft boxes, diffusing umbrellas, rolls of backdrop papers etc etc... I use that studio for the most professional shoots... but Paul... you don't NEED all that stuff!!!
I don't know what camera gear you have. I am a film person with old cameras. That way I have complete control over the way I create images in camera without having to mess around with them in PS. (unless i feel inspired to play in PS... cos that's fun too...)
I tend to overexpose a lot to get high key images when working in my makeshift studio. I have really tacky old reflectors and a couple of umbrellas, but nothing too snazzy.
The photographer creates the picture. The tools are merely tools... I break every rule in "how to make a god image" ... lol!
I wish you good fortune and advise you to experiment, bracket your exposures and so on. Have a good time and I look forward to seeing your images!

The title is perfect for this lovely Planned portrait.What a stunning and pretty lady. Really love the highkey take and the diffuse effect!
This is really my type of shooting!
Oh yeah I have a studio portrait setting (my first) with a real model! So awsome. Not dates set yet. She travels alot and is from Cailf and is in DC at the moment. She has a brother in oklahoma about 2 hours north and is going to come down this way the next time she visits with him to let me shoot her! I have so much to do to get ready so I hope she will give me time. She seems as excited about it as me! lol
I want to do alot of movement type shooting and I do not have any flash heads so I have to get some. I really dont have a whole to put into it and Im wondering what type of power I would need.
Saw a pair of 200 watts a second rated light set.
in my price range. really it was three lights.
Do you think that would be enough. I still have my norman hot lights and they are 1000 watts each
I am think with all that and the three flash heads I should be able to do that type of shooting shouldent I Aniko?
Would be nice to have a couple soft boxes but I won't be able to get all that so soon.

So sensual and smart HK portrait, Aniko!
This is entering my favourites.
The diffused light and the softness of details generate a very pleasant feeling.
Furthermore, the relaxed pose of the model in an extremely well balanced composition make this portrait an excellent candidate for the project goal. BIP, BIP, BIP!...congratulations in advance! (at least, I hope so).

I find it is a pleasant image also, and the model was very pleased with the soft sensuality of this image. I am always so relieved when the model is happy!!! :) It was not an easy "take". Thankfully the model was comfortable with me and was very "giving". :) This type of shot can either be very sweet and delicate or border on being "tacky". I do not like and will not shoot anything that to my mind is "tacky".
