Thanks for the info Adam, The 'tent' certainly worked well on this one. I'll try & rig something up when I have another go at small shiny things. H:)

Julie, like this? I just did a "flip horizontal" in Photoshop. I don't think I agree with you. I think it works either way. But hey, that's why we're here. ;-)
Heather, I used two flash guns to light this. One near the front and the other near the rear. If you're going to be shooting a lot of small, shiny, reflective things, you should shoot them in a light tent (which is how I got these). The one I used is a "coccoon" and you can get them at Adorama or B&H and other places. It looks kind of like a white, translucent egg that zips up like a, well, like a tent. The curvy-ness of it makes any reflections look like nothing in partucular. Not the easiest doo-dad to work with but it does a great job of getting highlights but no discernable reflections.
In other words, I cheated and used a specialized piece of equipment to do the job. It was for a client so I wanted it to be as clean as possible.

Hi Adam, This one's better than mine although the thumbnails look similar! The smooth silk I guess keeps the drops/reflections smooth, and you managed to keep the reflections to a minimum as well - cool. H:)

My only suggestion would be to flip this so the lines and the beads of water go from the bottom LHS to the top RHS. It leads the eye into the photo and our eyes are trained to read from Left to Right so it would seem more natural

Go N8008s! good macro job. I like how you did the framing, texture of the fabric magnified by the water drops is excellent.
