Please don't apologize, Paul. You don't sound dumb at all. Does your camera have multiple exposure capability? It should tell in the manual. Are you using film? Even on some older cameras without multiple exposure capability, it was possible to hold in the button on the bottom to keep it from advancing, but your camera is probably not that old. Get back to me after you check your manual...okay?

Shirly I hope I don't sound too dumb but when you say take a shot on the same frame......(and I have heard that you can take like 16 shots on the same frame)......But even with the two you talk about.......How!!! Once you take a shoot you have to advance the film dont you......in order to take another exposure? I Know Im missing some little simple thing here and feel really quit stupid but I want to lean how to do this really badly. lol (Really)! Sorry.....:(
Hope this makes alittle sense to you.
Am I taking the same shots somehow without advancing to the next frame? How is that possible? urrrrrrr!!
again sorry!

Thank you so very much, dear Paul!:) The effect varies with the focal length of the lens you are using. But it goes like this: Take shot totally in focus, then without moving the camera,on the same frame, take another totally out of focus...remember to change your f-stop to wide open for this one.

Wow Shirley wonderfully worked. I really love the bright halo around the blossom!! I have been wanting to learn the in camera technique of double exposure. But, finding it hard to find anyone that can explain it to me so that I can understand........Seems like years ago I knew how to go about it but so much of the time when you learn something and don't apply it .......Well, you know the rest of the story! lol This is so stricking and soooo easy to look at. Hard to look away. Nice choice to go mono with it!
Congrats dear Shirley!!
Your friend,
Paul
