Eastern State Penitentiary, a 177 year old structure now in serious decay, but still open to the public (to wander aimlessly through it).
This is one of the 2 cellblocks that have a second floor. I have alwasy been fascinated by down the tunnel perspective shots, and this and the textures in the walls really caught my eye.
You have to climb a set of stairs to shoot this. That's not a problem, but the art installation (several artist installations exist in this jail) played clanking sounds like the sounds of bars behing hit.
The first time I was up there, the clanking started, and my heart just about stopped.
I'm used to the sounds now, not erie phantoms lamenting in the darkness, but more of a flowing rhythm of harmony and melody..
