such a sweet portrait!! it fits all together: her smile, the warm sepia tone and the soft light and low DOF. very very good.
what else is there to say. for me, really, nothing to improve. very intimate portrait, it makes my evening.

Lisa,
Thanx for the comment on my image.
I think for your portrait you should try moving the subject around to face into the light more. This will give a better wrap around light and add a catch light to the eyes. The left eye is too dark and the way she she is sitting looks uncomforatble. Also the eyes are not quite sharp, in a portrait the eye(s) must be the sharpest part of the image.
I agree not to remove the scar, as you say it is part of her. I get annoyed that digital workers have to "fix" everything just because they can.
You have a great lighting situation and a beautiful model, so it is just obvious you should try variations and come up with something great. To "save film" is in the end wasteful.
Please accccept these comments as helpful critique and see attached as an example of working the situation.

You are right Lisa. I would never clone out a part of a model, as I also love being true... i just thought that probably the oblique light made it a tad more evident then it is in the reality... I confirm my opinion: it is a great portrait and f/2,8 made its duty here!

Paolo - Thank you for you critique, I thought about cloning out the scar, but I did not because I was trying to be true to her and that is part of her, whether she wants it to be or not :)

Wonderful portrait with an amazing and sweet light. Being picky as this is a critique site: I would clone that scratch she has between her eyebrows as I find it quite distracting as probably light direction made it more evident than it should be. The short dof works great here, though the background window looks distracting to.. Still a wonderful portrait, bravo.
