Mary - Thank you. This shot was actually a lot of work. My camera doesn't have a great macro lens and it's basically a point-and-shoot (read: no manual control). Very often I have to fool it into doing what I want it to do. There was no good place to position my tripod close enough so I was using it as a table top tripod leaning against the side of the fountain. The fountain itself is in a dark corner of the small garden and then what I am shooting is on the underside of the fountain. Careful with that flash (no manual control) or it'll wash everything out. Hahaha. It's almost one of those duct tape and bailing wire moments. Ah, but at least one image was good, so why not?

Great and unique. The sizes and angles. Lighting and reflections brilliant.

Dave - Unless you're referring to a pair of pliers, I don't know what an endnipper would be either.

At first I wasn't very happy with this image, but once I turned it it was a whole new ball of wax.

Thanks for stopping by.

Tell me, did you use a pre-wash with an extra spin cycle too? LOL

Hey, this is really cool results, it looks so strange. Reading your title and seeing the thumbnail, I got extremely excited, thinking "he shot an 'endnipper'". And I'm thinking to myself, "where was he twenty years ago when I needed confirmation of such a word and a tool during a scrabble game?"

I ended up having to take the word off but I thought, finally, after all these years, I can prove it to her. Then I remembered she's near death and in a coma. And then, thinking, well if she pulls through...

Then I open your file, and see "DRIPPING". aRRRGH.

lol

Beautiful result. Ive seen many droplet photos, but this one stands out because of the gloomy textures.
I think you deserve a good macro lens, James, your interest in macros is obvious.
Bonne nuit:)

Kemal - Thanks. I hope to have a digital SLR by the end of summer. Then we'll see what I am able to accomplish in the macro realm. Wish me luck.
