Another example of a keen eye capturing a unique scene, drenched in culture, and yes, it does bring an ironic smile to the lips... Reminds me of a tradition here, of offering bottles of Gin to the Volcano Goddess, Pele... Technically, I wish for a bit greater DOF field here among the hand and cigarettes, as nothing appears quite totally in focus... Again, that may be due to how you are reducing the image for the web... Guess you can tell I am picky, picky, picky, but hey, that's just part of sharing critiques and hopefully improving technique to do your wonderful images the justice they deserve...;-)... Aloha, GP.

Of all your images this is the only one I have seen that needs a bit of work. A little to contrasty and the depth of field is off. The originality is excellent, as well as the lighting. Just my two cents.

Jeez, I didn't even know the Buddha was a smoker. I hope he likes Marlboros like me. :) This one made me laugh Darrin. Maybe I'm being culturally insensitive but I found a lot of humor in the reverential way the way cigarettes have been offered to the Buddha. Maybe this is the beginning of a new ad campaign for Philip Morris. Good eye to have captured what at least to western eyes seems a very ironic image. The tools of death being offered to the fountainhead of life...

Marco, why do you feel it is a good capture? Please elaborate. I like to learn from others and understand what they feel and see from my shots. Thanks
