Thanks Larry, yes it was El Capitan. Going pro, you ask? Huh, I dont know...guess if it means I'm earning $$ then I am. I've been charging for portraits and the odd product jobs for the last couple of years, while working fulltime in the music industry...but lately the photography jobs are taking over, so somethings gotta give. Nice to have options though :)

Just came across this, excellent shot of Yosemite, not cliched, but nice abstract of El Capitan (i'm guessing) and no its not too dark, but dead on, but you knew that didn't you. Are you going Pro with the Blushing tomatoes shots...those are some ripe fruit, and tomatoes are bad either... im a bad, bad boy Naughty Peta.

Excellent vision of El Cap. Not very often in my experience does it have that wonderful misty feel. I have climbed a few routes on this face...nice to see it once again from such a creative perspective Cheers, Tim

I like this composition. I remember driving near El Capitan and I was just so amazed at is huge presence. My jaw just dropped. That is why I like this framing you have. It reminds me how El Capitan filled my eyes.
cheers, nicole

Great shot Peta. I remember seeing this kind of beauty when Sam & I went to Yosemite. You do excellent work! Kim P.S. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my humble attempt at photography. And yes you are right...all of the Graziano Bros look alot alike (with hat--without hat--forwards or backwards.)

Hi P e T a, Congrats, you creative very dramatic shot. You show powerful mountain with lower clouds and trees in the front ground. The details and vertical lines on the mountain very nice. Excellent colors, composition, depth of field. Good luck. Abolfazl.

Hi Peta,
Nope, doesn't look too dark to me. But looking at the rather clipped trees below the whiff of clouds (reasoning that panning down would clip the tall tree on top) I wonder if shooting this in portrait format might've provided more room to create a better balance in composition, or at least more room to play with.
In it's current composition, most of the attention is drawn towards the rocks in the top left quadrant, wheras I think the interaction between clouds, rock and tree should've been the eye catcher...
Cheers,
Hugo

El Capitan? Too dark? This is outrageously beautiful, Peta! Ansel would smile, I suspect.
Rule of thirds, strong horizontal/vertical, and wonderful detail mark this shot for greatness.

I don't think it's too dark. It's perfectly exposed to bring out the texture and detail in the rock formations, which are gorgeous. The cloud whisping across is ideal, and I like the detail in the almost silhouette of the tree. Great job, Peta.
