Hi, Andrew.

I think you achieved your goal with this picture. I don't look at your photo as a flower shot, but as an abstract, so the focus didn't bothered me, on the contrary I feel it helps to soften even more the image, adding strongness to your project. Very clever done! My best regards,

Marcelo.

Personally, I believe that the lack of sharpness serves very well in this photo. I view it as an abstract, not as a flower close-up, so I don't think it necessarily needs to be sharp. Furthermore, the softness makes it look like a painting. The composition is fine, and the colours are appealing.

The only thing I would say needs serious revision is the frame. I think a simple black frame would be so much better.

Well Andrew I love this, the colours are great and work really well together, while I agree it should have some part of it sharp (like the center) I still think this works, because of the tonal range, the center is dark and gets progressively lighter as you move out and the off center composition is great.

Hi Andrew...I'm afraid that I agree with Betsy on this one...if the center were in focus...the fade away would really work...you have the color gradients in your favor...and having it off center would make an excellent composition...I'm a fan of frames and believe they can tie into your image but must be gept low key...of course I've had my own share of bloopers in that department...I'm going to visit a couple of your other pics...I saw some that really caught my attention

Interesting macro and I don't mind the colors but I think you need some area of sharp focus to pull this off. It could still fade off to softness. I would like to see you shoot this again, too. I like the placement. A simpler frame is needed, let the strong image speak for itself without the fancy framing.

Hi Andrew,

I would like to see a higher rating on this one. I like the concept and also the colours. I think that you should try this again with different colour and see the reaction then. Maybe shades of Lilac and Blue or Pink perhaps.
Best regards,
