Sal, I don't look at these as faults but as challenges. You have no reason to be sorry. I have admired your portfolio for a long time. You are more versed in taking floral shots and you do them well. Portraits will be your challenge. Try to control the outcome. If those flowers don't add to your overall image then they detract from your image. The horizon should be straight to make for a more pleasant shot. The light ideally should be diffused and not as strong and as harsh as what you have here on this sunny day. The picture would be much better if you asked them to move into the shade a got the wall as a background. You could also be closer to your subject. Believe me that is a very pretty focal point. Lots going against you in this shot Salvador. An overcast day would have been more ideal for this portrait shot. Maybe a little fill-in flash would have helped. I find the bg distracting as well. I keep looking at those flowers. Put them in the centre of the picture, straighten the horizon and get closer. Those two deserve better.
