Very nice shot. I like the way you used DoF to blur the background. I don't think that the bird's head being a bit soft is an issue.

Beautiful shot. Perhaps the reduced resolution is contributing to this somehow, but I think the only thing I might have tried differently (assuming there was enough light available) is that I would have shot it with the lens stopped down just a hair more to get a bit more depth of field. Your DOF is so shallow that the tail (which is perfectly sharp) is clearer than the head of the bird. Otherwise, the composition, angle of the shot and the colors are fantastic. Congratulations!
