In class we were told that it is very hard to capture older people in B&W because they usually look stiff and very posed even if they aren't. You captured the spirit of this feisty, beautiful woman wonderfully. I bet she can tell some great stories. A lovely protrait, Susie.

I'm amazed how well the tones turned out in this one Good job! The reflections in the glasses can go or stay...they don't bother me at all. Good details in this one, and a nice (and clever) addition to the "Cafe Kids!"

What a great title for this one!
This lady looks fantastic! 103 and full of energy. It's really heart warming to see something like this! We tend to concentrate far too much on the young. This lady must have a million stories to tell.

a wonderful smile from a century old woman, I think I will order what she had for lunch... Of all your cafe kids you've captured, she's is the only one with glasses and aside from that, this one looks very willing to pose for you. good conversion to monochromatic and good of you to post her picture...

Hi Susie! Canīt believe it ... 103 years ... and still going strong :) Her generation has seen immense changes in the society. Her smile shows that she is still young at heart; another proof of the fact that a positive attitude is a vital ingredient for a long life. Love how the ear decorations shine along with her teeth. Wonderful shot!

Great character portrayal, Susie! Old kids, young kids, you are good at them all. I like that you printed in a soft contrast that is very flattering and the tight crop really brings one into the character. I love the portrait as it is. Now, if it were mine, I'd be tempted to work on removing just some of the reflections in the glasses, on the teeth and have only one catchlight in the pupils. It is just a little detail left to do.
