Superb composition. Striking b&w that tells a story. Well done!

Yes, that's true. I think that the absence of peopel adds a rather different kind of charm, and the generated questions make the photo more suggestive. (I stated those questions about people in the sence of suggestive thoughts.)

Two different ways to approach this here, and though I like yours very much, now that you say that about people, I can imagine very well that they could add to the scene. It would be very good too, but quite different, I think.

Keep up the good work!

Dear Nick,
Thank you for your constructive criticism. I have to admit that I took the "risk-free" approach of having no people in my frame. In some cases tourists wandering around could spoil the composition of the photo. From the other side, presense of people could add a lot to a photo of this kind considering you are at the right place, the right moment.
Regards,
Michalis

The very essence of solitude, the outmost of watching a scene that just... is!

Having this DOF makes the scenery so real, but its contents are still a dream. No human soul around, but in the foreground the tools of human activity - those small hammers. Then the patterns of wood on the wooden bell, the plants, the mosaic like floor. There had to be human beings here, but where are they?

This picture looks quite, but in its quiteness it asks so much!

Congratulations!

A beautiful monastery and in Korinth? I´ve been staying in monasteries in France and Germany. Such wonderful places where one´s soul can calm down and focus on the spiritual side of life instead of all this materialism that we´re surrounded by in our everyday life.
Very nice inspiring image:-)And yes, some signals are slowly forgotten and taken over by others.
Best wishes,
Annemette
