Great shot my friend.
These guys are among my favorite birds, unfortunately they don't visit us here in California.
In February I went all the way to Florida to capture these guys plus some of the beautiful local birds but did not have much time and I missed them.
The next week I am going to Costa Rica and hope to get my RS.
In regards my critique, as usual, you always get a positive review from me.

Darlene, I like the image, but I think I would like to see it cropped above the leg. For me, that would be a stronger composition. My other tiny nit-pick is the out of focus branch which seems to be coming out of the back of it's head. You could easily fuz that out a bit more in PS if you wanted. All in all, its a beautiful photo.

Stunning effects from the perfect dof my dear Darlene. The colours are gorgeous particularly those in the intricate patterning in the head area. I love too the plumage colours and the amazing clarity of the multi-detailed spoonbill. The bold crop finishes off this excellent wildlife study. Well done to you sweetie.
I hope you yourself are well for I know you have been struggling with the health and mishaps of other members of the family. It is so nice to see something of you after these little absenses. My very best wishes to you as always....Ray

Cool shot, Darlene; the partial view is a nice, if not unusual approach. I guess that's because most people would've centered the bird, and I like this different type of composition, as it takes it out of the ordinary.
I also like how the bird stands out, not only because of the shallow DoF, but also because of the tonal differences; the natural greyish / green background has a nice and strong contrast with the white and pink of the bird.
Just a small thought: I think the current composition could've been even a bit more pronounced if you'd crop off a small strip on the right, removing his (her) feet from view. Just a suggestion, not sure if it would work, and I'll gladly leave that to you to decide; see attached picture.
