i thought they looked quite young too, but apparently they dont have to be enlisted very long before they become eligible for this duty. and yes he is smiling.

I thought those guards were not supposed to smile or show any emotion. You caught them OFF GUARD!!! They do look so very young. I suppose the film slightly saturates the existing colors, but I don't see much of it here.

The colors of the guards match the soft red of the grounds also getting it from a low angle made these guards look longer= giving more empasizes to them, their facial expression, and their attractive uniforms.
