I really love this photo! It is what I was truely feeling at the time "pictures are worth a thousand words" I guess hehe!!
I loved fooling around with the lighting and camera angles to get the right affect. The only thing is I didn't want to fool much with it in photoshop or anything bc I thought it might lose the natural light and affect I dunno tell me what you think!
I don't like the red light or the hand covering the face. Don't feel guilty modifying the image in Photoshop. Keep in mind that the image is an interpretation of your digital camera (based on the settings you used), which may or may not agree with your intended result.
Good job Emily, suggest you iether cropping a little from the left and from the bottom, or lighten the left side a little, how ever its so good and carries a lot of feeling..
I like the lighting and the pose does make you think about what emotions are being experienced. I quickly wanted to suggest that the left third of the frame be cropped to create a more conventional composition and eliminate a lot of the empty darkness, but as I continue to look it does seem to provide a unique balance as is. Any way you "slice" it, I think it's a keeper.
