Interesting that you use the B&W approach . . . I certainly wouldn't have thought of that . . . Your focus and capture are quite good, however, and the DOF is very good. Because we're used to seeing wide-eyed owls, this one seems to appear almost sleepy. The non-flash and 1600 ISO sure seemed to work out for you. Nice capture.
