Wonderful textrures between the soft, white snow & cluds and the gnarly wood of the tree. Very nice.

1. Image looks a little bit dark for such a plenty of snow and sun light. 2. Composition is not balanced. Bush at foreground looks even a larger, that stones at background - it gives a sence of "false/not true/not real". Imho, of course. All these for CC only.
Regards, Serge

Hi Tim, finally at home, with a better screen and better lighting. I agree, there is a lot of detail in the dark part, so please disregard my previous comment. The difference sure is substantial, quite interesting to see, actually. I never realised, nor noticed such a huge difference....:) Only one way to find out, I guess!
Cheers,
Hugo

Great snow shot, Tim! Fantastic shapes with the small bushes, and I like gnarled appearance of the bush on the left. Those huge rock formations make an amazing landscape! Dave.

Hi Hugo, Thanks for taking the time to access this image. On my monitor the details you are looking for are very aparent, perhaps yours is set up somewhat differently from mine or it is the sunlight as you have suggested. Thank you again, Cheers, Tim

Hi Tim,
Spectacular combination of landscape and sky, with a very well balanced composition, build up of interesting objects and a set of strong lines in it. No surprises there...:)
I do find the the dark parts in the tree and the rock formation a bit too dark, though, which rids them of details, texture and depth. Difficult to assess at the moment as I'm currently in a pretty bright room, so I'll have to take another look tonight.
The textures and details in the snow are superb, though, but I do feel that in order to get them this good, you had to sacrifice a bit of the clarity and crispness of the image, if you see what I mean. These are only very minor things, but you did put it in the Critiquer's Corner section...:)
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Tim, this a fabulous composition. I looked long and hard to find a point of criticism, but I honestly can't. great DOF, details, framing and lighting. maybe the snow could be a little whiter, but that's really extreme nitpicking. stunning work. congratulations.
