That's an interesting landscape Tim, quite different from your Canadian shots. I particularly like the markings in the tree trunk in this one, I think they could be a study in themselves, but it works very well in this image leading the eye up to the rock formation.

Yes, this is an unusual colour palette and terrain that is completely unfamiliar to me. Not sure what you mean about editing in the distance. Do you mean that it obscures things you would otherwise have wanted to remove?

Wel we had a bit of everything today but when the sun came out in spots and the sky broke the photo opps were amazing....i'll post some of those today.

A great perspective on this red landscape, Tim, and as you've said the grey snow skies lend a little different dimension than we usually see in these shots. I really like your point of view and composition in this one. Dave.

Yes this is a nice photo. I love the desert. Keep dry that is the main thing. I don't know how much snow there would be in canyonlands but I'll bet if it clear a little the haze would be gone there.
