when we were in Port Lockroy it was all clouded in...But later in the day it cleared off for some fantastic images in Orne Harbour. I knew we were missing some great mountains!

Nice! The background mountains really compliments the penguins in the foreground as it gives a sense of their environment (Brrrr). Thanks much for the comments Sharrie, in regards to your question the dunes can be found along SR 190, that particular spot is approx a 20 minutes hike, quite a workout as your foot sinks on every step as you scale it, regards.

Wow, awesome shot, Sharrie!! It does look a little surreal in that the mountains seemingly come right up out of the ice there. Great light and composition. Seems like you've been just about everywhere (though you've only posted a few pics so far). Can't wait to see more. Cheers, Gary
