Thank you both very much for your comments! I appreciate it. I wish i had come up with the peephole idea, but i read about it somewhere. I am working with all that i have right now for getting these shots on the website (using someone else's scanner, no photoshop...) so they don't look the greatest. Using the peep hole is a great idea, although you can get the same sort of effect on a computer program like "adobe photoshop" which would give you the option the sharpen the image, still great picture!
The idea is great as your intentions, but there's still a lot of work to be done. The scanning isn't too well performed. The background checkboard should have been aligned and perhaps with more saturation while keeping the blurry effect.
